Digital Futures is a series of events throughout the year bringing together representatives from Computing and Creative Technology companies and students from the UWS, School of Engineering & Computing’s Business Technology, Computer Networking, Computing Science, Information Technology, Animation, Games, Music Technology and Web & Mobile Development undergraduate programmes and Advanced Computing Science Development, Information Technology, Mobile Web Development and Smart Networks postgraduate programmes. The end of year graduate showcase to industry event, Digital Futures 2016 on 07.06.16 at 0930-1500 on the UWS Paisley Campus is the culmination of the 2015-16 programme.
Other Digital Futures sessions include Technical Talks, Presentations, Workshops, Masterclasses from our Computing and Creative Industry partner companies and student2b, graduate2b, graduate2student and b2b Networking Sessions.
Digital Futures runs in conjunction with our UWS Computing and Creative Technologies Industry Collaboration Programme. The programme introduces Computing and Creative Technology students across four academic levels (corresponding to years 1-4 of the programmes) to our industry partners and builds up students’ relationships with them.
- Level 1 – Talks from Industry Professionals;
- Level 2 – Company Visits and Student Work/Project Placements and Mentoring;
- Level 3 – Student Mentoring/Project and Work Placements/Sandwich Placements;
- Level 4 – Joint industry partner/UWS Honours projects.
Our industry partners include BBC Scotland, The SECC/Hydro, Axis Animation, Hewlett Packard Services, Morgan Stanley, Codeplay and IES.
